Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer God acceptable worship with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28
A Grateful Heart
Ungratefulness is a varnish that hardens and clouds your ability to enjoy life.
Ungratefulness shows up when we lose our perspective of the kingdom we have received and think our life is a kingdom we have achieved.
This is not a "Just be grateful for what you got, boy!" gratitude.
It isn't a comparison ruse where you look at someone else's circumstances and think, "I am grateful that didn't happen to me."
It isn't thank you for this perfect parking place or free tickets, Lord!
Genuine gratefulness is not based on circumstances and temporal blessings; it is a place of humility.
Gratefulness is found in knowing that we are children of the King.
Citizens of another realm that is being revealed in our lives as we love one another as He loves us.
Our perspective can only be one of gratitude when we realize this life is not about us but His life in us and through us for His glory.
How might you have slowly lost sight of your identity and purpose?
In what ways has your gratitude been more about an attitude than His eternal life within you?
Lord, bring us around to realize we can be grateful in and out of season, through trials and tribulations, victories and defeats, because Your kingdom is within us. Thank You for loving us! Amen
