Already Yours
Learning To Receive What Has Been Given
From His Fullness
There is a line in Scripture that changes everything when you slow down enough to hear it:
“From His fullness we have all received…” — John 1:16
Not will receive. Not might receive.
Have received.
Something has already been given.
Not in part, but from His fullness.
The Gift in Your Hands
The word received here is the Greek word lambanō.
It doesn’t mean waiting.
It doesn’t mean earning.
It means taking hold of what has been given.
Like someone placing a gift in your hands.
It’s already yours.
Already given.
Already real.
Receiving is not getting something you don’t have.
It’s taking hold of what is already yours and living like it’s true.
You can hold a gift and never open it.
You can have something in your hands and never live from it.
But the moment you open it…
use it…
trust it…
It is no longer just given.
It becomes lived.
What Love Has Already Given
Through Jesus, this is what has happened.
You have received from His fullness.
Not just forgiveness, but belonging.
Not just help, but His very life.
Not just a promise, but His Spirit within you.
This is not something you are waiting on.
It is something to awaken to.
Living From What Is True
So the invitation is not to reach for something distant.
It is to take hold of what is already yours.
To trust that what is true in Him is now true for you.
And slowly, something shifts.
You begin living from fullness.
Not because everything feels different—but because you are learning to receive what has always been there.
Reflection
Where might I still be waiting for what has already been given?
What would it look like to take hold of what is already mine in Christ?
Where can I live today from fullness instead of lack?
Prayer
Abba Father, thank You that nothing in You is held back from me. Teach me to receive—to take hold of what You have already given through Jesus. Help me live from Your fullness today. Amen.
