Expectancy is greater than Expectation.

"Teach me what I cannot see" Job 34:32

Expectancy is greater than Expectation.

Our greatest tests come when we cannot see positive results from our faith and obedience. We must die to our expectations and entrust them to our Lord in such cases. Os Hilman

There was quite a bit of expectancy around the Messiah's coming as well as expectations on what He would do and be like.

The ones who lived in expectancy were looking for the promise of God, whereas the ones who had expectations were looking to get something specific from Him.

An expectation is an idea of 'how' God will answer your prayer.

Living with expectancy is the hope that He will do what is best in His way, His time, and His perfect knowledge.

What expectations have you had of God that haven’t been met?

In what ways have your expectations of God blinded you from living in expectancy with Him?

Lord, we want to live in an expectancy of You. May we fully believe that You are good and Your love endures forever! Amen
