For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Hebrews 8:10
From Old To New
Moving from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant is going from God saying, "I do, then you will do" (even though we can't), to "I do for you and through you."
So many of our stumbles and roadblocks in living our new life come from bringing an Old Covenant language to a New Covenant country.
We have moved from Law to Life.
The new language is for a new country where we are designed to thrive.
The Law is holy and just, but it couldn't make us holy or just; only the Person of Jesus can do that!
One of the beauties of our new country is the promise of God saying: "Everything I have is yours, and everything you have is Mine."
"I have given you My life, and now your life is Mine."
The Old Covenant is something we try to live up to.
The New Covenant is living, Jesus living His life through us.
In what areas of your thinking do you still think about performance-based acceptance?
Describe what a full, glorifying daily walk with Jesus would be to you.
Why is there a chasm between what you read in the New Testament and what you are experiencing?
Lord, transform our mind into the mind of Your Son Jesus! Show us You have given us new hearts to know Your love and to love others. We want to run free like a lamb escaping the shearer. No more will we be bound by trying to achieve what You have already paid for. Amen
