From or For? The Love You Live By Matters

Let go of earning. Live from belonging.

From or For? The Love You Live By Matters

Let go of earning. Live from belonging.

We were never created to work for love
.
That’s the world’s economy: earn approval, prove yourself, strive harder, and maybe
—maybe—you’ll be enough.
But Abba Father’s Kingdom operates on a different kind of currency:
AGAPE.

Unconditional. Unearned. Unshakable.

The difference between working
for love and working from love is everything.
When we work
for love, we strive. We perform. We anxiously measure our worth by our outcomes and others’ opinions.

But when we work from love—
We move from rest, not fear.
We live from wholeness, not hustle.
We serve from identity, not insecurity.

“Make yourselves at home in my love.” – John 15:9 (MSG)
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…” – Ephesians 3:20

So, how do we make that shift?
?

1. Start by asking, “What’s driving me?”
Is it fear of rejection? Pressure to perform? Or a quiet confidence in God’s love?

2. Abide—don’t strive.
John 15 doesn’t say strive harder. It says remain in My love. Spend time just receiving, not producing.

3. Speak God’s truth daily.
Declare over yourself: “I am loved, accepted, and chosen—not because of what I do, but because of who He is.”

You are not paying penance by being “good.
”
You’re already
called beloved.
Now live like it—with joy, creativity, and the freedom to fail and grow, knowing His love isn’t going anywhere.
.

Reflection

Where in my life have I been working for love instead of from it?

How would my relationship with God and others change if I really believed I was fully loved?

What simple ways can I “make myself at home” in God’s love today?

A Prayer to Live From Love

Abba, thank You that I don’t have to earn what You’ve already given. I surrender my striving. I receive Your love. Teach me to live, give, lead, and serve—from love, not for it. Let everything I do be rooted in belonging. In Jesus’ name, amen.
