Fully Alive in Him

True freedom isn’t escaping God’s design; it’s thriving within it.

Fully Alive in Him

True freedom isn’t escaping God’s design; it’s thriving within it.

"To seek God does not narrow one’s life; rather, it brings it to the level of highest possible fulfillment." A.W. Tozer

"Apart from Me, you can do nothing." — Jesus (John 15:5)

The world often whispers that following Christ means missing out—that faith is a list of restrictions, a narrowing of life.

But in truth, life in Christ is the only way to live fully alive. It is not the trimming back of possibility, but the opening up of true destiny.

The Freedom of Being Hidden in Christ

Living in Christ means we no longer have to fear rejection, failure, or falling short. Paul writes:

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3

That word hidden is a gift. It means that your worth, identity, and future are not out on display for the world’s judgment. They are safely secured in Him. It’s like being covered by the world’s greatest insurance policy—only this one never expires, and you don’t have to fight with customer service to claim it.

The Adventure of His Destiny

To the outside world, faith may appear to be a narrowing of options. But think of it like an archer drawing back the bow.

The pulling back isn’t a restriction—it’s preparation. The tighter the string is drawn, the farther the arrow will fly.

In Christ, your life isn’t being reduced; it’s being aligned for eternal impact. Every “no” to fear, sin, and counterfeit fulfillment is really a louder “yes” to love, joy, and purpose.

No Fear in Perfect Love

“Perfect love drives out fear.” — 1 John 4:18

When you know you are fully accepted and made whole in Christ, fear loses its grip. You don’t have to fear being unloved, unworthy, or unfinished. His Spirit is already working in you, shaping you to fulfill the dreams He’s planted within your heart.

And sometimes, He plants those dreams not so you can achieve them alone, but so the world can see His love alive in you.

If life in Christ ever feels limiting, remember this: the fish that “frees” itself from the water isn’t freer—it’s flopping on the dock.

True freedom is not in escaping the boundaries of love but in thriving within them.

Reflection

Where in your life have you confused God’s “alignment” for “restriction”?

What dream or desire might God be shaping in you for His good pleasure?

How would your perspective shift if you saw yourself as already fully accepted in Christ?

Prayer

Lord, thank You that in You my life is not narrowed but made whole. Free me from the fear of rejection and the burden of proving myself. Help me to live fully alive, hidden in Your love, and walking boldly into the destiny You’ve prepared for me. May every step of my journey be shaped by Your Spirit and reveal Your joy to the world. Amen.
