Fully Alive In Him

Why Surrender Does Not Shrink Your Life

Fully Alive In Him

Why Surrender Does Not Shrink Your Life

“To seek God does not narrow one’s life, rather it brings it to the level of highest possible fulfillment.” A.W. Tozer

That runs opposite to how many people think.

Some imagine that fully following Christ means losing themselves, giving up their dreams, or somehow becoming less alive.

Jesus says, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”

At first, that can sound limiting until you realize He is not withholding life from us.

He is revealing where life comes from.

What We Fear Losing

Many people keep part of themselves held back from God because they fear what surrender might cost them.

What if I lose myself or fail or become less than I hoped to be?

But living in Christ does not diminish who you are.

It frees you to become who you were created to be.

Where Fear Begins Losing Its Voice

When you begin living from His love instead of trying to earn it, fear no longer has the same authority over your life.

The fear of rejection.
The fear of failure.
The fear of not being enough.

Scripture says your life is “hidden with Christ in God.”

You are not trying to find life apart from Him.

His life is becoming the life you live from.

The Life You Were Created For

God is not trying to take life from you; He is leading you into it.

And as you walk with Him, even your dreams begin taking shape within His love and purpose for you.

The fullest life possible is not found apart from Him.

It is found in Him.

Reflection

Where have I feared surrender might diminish my life?

What would it look like to trust that His love is leading me into fullness instead of limitation?

Where am I still trying to live apart from the life only He can give?

Prayer

Abba Father, thank You that Your desire is not to diminish my life but to bring it fully alive in You. Teach me to trust Your love, surrender my fears, and live from the life You have already given me in Christ. Amen.
