God is Generous
God’s Answers Flow From His Abundance
“Every time I take a step in the direction of generosity, I know I am moving from fear to love.” Henri Nouwen.
Generosity Flows From Identity
Generosity isn’t just something we do; it’s who we are.
We are Beloved children of a perfectly loving Abba Father. He is not stingy or reluctant. “No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). His nature is abundance, and as His children, generosity is our inheritance.
Generosity is not about giving away what we might lose. It’s about living in line with who we are—sons and daughters of a God who delights to give.
The Abundance Mindset
Fear whispers: “There’s not enough.”
Love declares: “My Father owns it all, and I am His child.”
To live generously, we must think like Jesus—the Son who knew He was Beloved. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
He poured Himself out not because He lacked, but because He trusted the Father’s endless supply.
Generosity is not reckless giving—it is confident living in God’s abundance.
Walking the Plank of Trust
Picture generosity as walking the plank. Every step feels risky: What if I fall? What if there’s not enough left?
But here’s the reality: the plank doesn’t end in water—it ends in the Father’s arms.
When we trust His provision, we discover the freedom of generosity.
We echo David’s testimony: “I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25)
Love Pours, Fear Hoards
The cross is the ultimate example of generosity. The Father gave His Son. The Son gave His life. The Spirit gives Himself in fullness. “He saved us… through the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.” (Titus 3:5–6)
This is not trickle-down love. It is poured-out love.
And when we live in that flow, fear has no room left.
