Grace Has No Edge
Living From The Generosity Of God
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:14
What Is Grace?
The Greek word is charis.
It conveys favor freely given, gracious generosity, and gift. It is related to words for joy and thanksgiving, giving us a picture of grace as something alive, generous, and overflowing.
Grace is not simply help from a distant God.
Grace comes to us in Jesus.
Look At The Language
Paul says grace can abound toward us. When he is weak, Jesus tells him, “My grace is sufficient for you.”
Timothy is told to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, while
Hebrews tells us to draw near confidently and find grace in our time of need.
Peter says grace can be multiplied as we know God and Jesus more deeply, and then invites us to grow in grace.
This is not a small spiritual allowance.
It is Life being shared.
The Grace Of Jesus
Paul ends 2 Corinthians by placing three beautiful realities together: the grace of Jesus, the Love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
Grace belongs inside relationship.
It is not a spiritual commodity we occasionally receive.
It is the generosity of God meeting us in our humanness, strengthening us, carrying us, and expressing His Life through ours.
We do not graduate from grace. We keep discovering how deep it goes.

Maybe that is why Peter connects grace with knowing Jesus.
The more we know Him, the more we discover how little we have exhausted.
Grace is sufficient because Jesus is sufficient, and grace abounds because Abba’s generosity has no edge.
Reflection
Where am I still trying to supply what grace already provides?
What would it mean to receive grace as participation in His Life?
Where is grace already meeting me today?
Prayer
Abba Father, awaken me to the grace of Jesus and the fellowship of Your Spirit. Teach me to live from what You freely give. Amen.
