Hopeless or Hopeful Surrender?

Our call is to surrender to Christ, for He alone is in whom we hope.

Let us thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was through His loving-kindness that we were born again to a new life and have a hope that never dies. This hope is ours because Jesus was raised from the dead. I Peter 1:3

Hopeful Surrender or Hopeless Surrender?

Hopeless Surrender

Hopelessly giving up happens when we have worn ourselves out through worrying and then accepted our pending (perceived) doom.

Hopeless surrender gives up hope that God loves us and is in eternal control, resulting in our resignation to fate.

Hopeful Surrender

Hopeful surrender is becoming aware that what we hold onto is not control but the illusion of control.

It happens when we reckon ourselves dead to ourselves and alive in Christ.

Hopeful surrender is trusting the One in control no matter the earthly outcome.

Our call is to surrender to Christ, for He alone is in whom we hope.

If Christ has exchanged His life for yours, how have you learned to surrender?

What would you tell someone hope is?

Lord, thank You for giving us lasting hope through faith. May we always be conscious of living in hope and not defeat. Amen
