We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves. If we live, we live to the Lord; if we die, we are the Lord’s. To this end, Christ died and lived again to be Lord of the dead and the living. Romans 14:8-9
"Jesus is Lord of all or Lord not at all." (Unknown)
Have you ever prayed the "Whatever" prayer?
No, not the flippant, sarcastic, "Whatever" response to life not going your way.
I mean the end of your rope, I give up trying to control my life, so please, Lord, do "Whatever" You want to do with and in me.
I have.
I have recently.
And then I waited for a response.
And His response was:
What about...
However?
Whenever?
Wherever?
Whomever?
I prayed for Him to move in, through, and around me in specific ways. Then, by grace, the Holy Spirit convicted me of how much I wanted to be in control.
I was still trying to be the lord of part of my life.
Jesus is Lord of all or Lord not at all.
Is Jesus your Lord?
What habits or attitudes do you demand holding on to?
In what areas or circumstances of your life do you still require control?
What outcomes in your life are you still trying to control?
Lord, there we said it. You are the Savior and the Lord of our life. Do as you please with us, Master. May Your glory be all we know. Amen
