Living Between The Memories And The Dreams
Where Presence Holds It All Together
Behind us are memories that shaped us.
Beside us are friends who hold us.
Before us are dreams still unfolding.
Life is lived right here—
between what has been
and what is still becoming.
The Beauty of the Past: Memories That Shaped Us
Our past is not something to escape.
It is something to understand.
Behind us are memories that shaped us—
lessons learned,
love planted,
mistakes that taught us what mattered most.
Scripture never asks us to deny the past.
It invites us to redeem it.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Romans 8:28
The past does not define us,
but it has formed us.
Even the hard places,
even the unfinished chapters,
have been held in His care.
Nothing has been wasted.
The Gift of Today: Presence and Community
Today is where life is actually lived.
Beside us are friends who hold us—
around tables,
on long walks,
in shared laughter and honest conversations.
This is not accidental.
Faith was never meant to be solitary.
“Where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20
God is not waiting for us in some future version of ourselves.
He is present now—
in the middle of ordinary days,
in relationships that steady us,
in grace that meets us as we are.
Today is not a placeholder.
It is holy ground.
The Hope of Tomorrow: Dreams Still Unfolding
Before us are dreams still unfolding—
not wishful thinking,
not escape plans,
but a quiet trust in Abba’s goodness.
These dreams are shaped by His heart,
not our striving.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Tomorrow is not something to fear.
It is something to entrust.
We don’t rush toward it.
We walk into it—
held by the same love
that shaped our past
and sustains our present.
This is the life we’ve been given.
Held in love.
Shared in community.
Carried forward in hope.
Reflection
Which memories are you being invited to see with more grace?
Who is beside you right now, helping you live faithfully today?
What dream ahead feels less like pressure and more like trust?
