Living By Revelation

Revelation is when you are shown something you could not have known on your own. Jack Hayford

Beyond Our Power

Pharaoh once told Joseph about a dream that no one could explain. Joseph’s response was simple: “It is beyond my power to do this… but God can tell you what it means and set you at ease” (Genesis 41:15–16). That’s revelation. It isn’t human brilliance or clever deduction. It’s God uncovering what we could never uncover on our own.

Revelation is heaven pulling back the curtain so earth can see clearly.

God Doesn’t Say, “Figure It Out”

How often do we exhaust ourselves trying to piece life together like some cosmic jigsaw puzzle? We strategize, analyze, and agonize, hoping to get it right.

But God doesn’t hand us a box of clues and walk away. He says, “Trust Me.”

He delights to reveal His heart, His wisdom, and His direction to His children. Revelation flows not from striving but from relationship.

Jesus, the Revelation of Love

At the center of it all, Jesus is the Father’s greatest revelation. “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9).

In Christ, God revealed His love, His mercy, His kingdom.

The parables were revelations. The cross was revelation. The empty tomb—revelation. Everything about Jesus unveiled the Father’s heart: not distant, but near; not condemning, but saving; not stingy, but lavish in love.

Kingdom Living by Revelation

Kingdom life isn’t lived by guesswork. It’s lived by revelation.

Paul prayed that we would receive “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better” (Ephesians 1:17). That’s the rhythm of Kingdom living—daily leaning in, listening, expecting God to show us what we could never know without Him.

Revelation isn’t rare—it’s the normal life of beloved children walking with their Father.

Reflection

Where are you depending on your own wisdom instead of asking God to reveal His?

How might Jesus’ life and words be a fresh revelation of the Father’s love for you today?

What would it look like for you to expect God to reveal His wisdom as naturally as a child expects a loving parent to answer?

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You that You don’t leave me to figure life out on my own. You reveal. You uncover. You speak. Jesus, You are the revelation of the Father’s love—and I long to see more of You. Teach me to live by revelation, not by striving. Open the eyes of my heart to know You better, to trust You more deeply, and to walk each day in the confidence of Your love. Amen.
