Meditation Or Worry?

Change your object of worship from you to Him.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the path of sinners, or sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2

Meditate

I am "worried" about God's Word.

Now that I have your attention.

Let's talk about meditating on God's Word.

Meditating on God's word means concentrating and thinking deeply about Him and His ways.

Meditating day and night.

You can do this because you've had lots of practice in another area doing this.

Same process, different outcomes!

We call it worrying.

Worrying is concentrating and thinking about an outcome you don't want— day and night.

You will repeat the same thing in your mind, imagining a destructive result.

So, how can we move from destructive to constructive?

From tearing down to building up?

From ruble to restoration?

Change your object of worship from you to Him.

Ouch?

Worrying is always thinking about how things, people, or circumstances are not working out how you think they should be for your purposes.

Worshipping God leaves all methods, sources, and outcomes in the hands of Him, who is God.

Perfect love, loving us perfectly.

He is worthy of consuming not only our thoughts but how we think.

How might you have missed the blessing of meditating on God and His ways?

How would your life and the lives of those around you change if you chose to meditate on God instead of yourself?

Lord, find us face down before You, worshipping You with our minds submersed in Your love. May we be blessed as we discover the wonders of You. Amen
