Musings About The True Vine

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes that it may bear more fruit." John 15:1-2

True Vine

Jesus says, "I am the True Vine."

What a beautiful illustration.

The vine is life to the branches.

Jesus is our life.

The vine holds the branches; the branches don't hold onto the vine; they grow out of it.

Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.

The branches look the most like the vine where the branches are connected.

Knowing the place of abiding is where you will reveal Jesus' life.

The vine provides the life for the branch to live and bear the fruit.

The branch receives just as all we are and have comes from Jesus.

The DNA of the branch is the same as the vine. So is the DNA of the fruit and its seed.

Christ has given us His DNA. That is why the fruit we bear is love because He is love.

Spend time meditating on the Vine, Vinedresser, and the branch.

Look for God's fantastic design and the relationship each has with the other.

LOVE

This chapter is about love, the fruit we bear by abiding (remaining) in His love.

How might your world be different if you knew your purpose is to bear the love you receive?

How would the lives of others be different if you are abiding in Him?

When Jesus says to abide and remain in me, how does that look to you?

Lord, thank You for using things You have created to reveal Yourself and our relationship to You and Your world. Oh, find us abiding in You. Amen
