Rest

Enter into His Sabbath rest...daily.

The apostles [sent out as missionaries] came back and gathered with Jesus and told Him all they had done and taught. And He said to them, [As for you] come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while—for many were [continually] coming and going, and they had not even leisure enough to eat. And they went away in a boat to a solitary place by themselves. Mark 6:30-32 AMP

Rest

I love the picture of rest in the above scripture.

They were not only going away by themselves but with Jesus.

During this busy season, I am continuously being reminded to come away and rest.

This is not a nap type of rest, even though most who know me are familiar with my high value on power naps!

Living in the Sabbath rest allows God to work through us.

Rest is not the absence of work; it is the presence of peace.

You've heard it before in this scripture: "Quit striving and know that I Am God." Psalm 46:10

So, I urge you to turn to your first love, Jesus, continually.

Abide in Him as He is in you.

Enjoy Him as He enjoys you.

Enter into His Sabbath rest...daily.

What does rest look like to you?

How do you rest in Him and do His will?

Thank you, Father, for your kindness that continues to call me unto You and abide in You. For where else have I to go? You not only have the words of life, but You are the Word of life. Amen
