Rich Beyond Measure
Awakening To The Treasure Already Within Us
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us...” Ephesians 3:20
What If It's Already There?
Imagine having a billion dollars in the bank while living every day convinced you're broke.
The money is there. The account is yours. Nothing more needs to be deposited, yet you continue living from what you believe you lack.
I think many of us have experienced our life with Jesus this way.
Not because we've failed, but because there is still so much of His life and Love within us that we are learning to recognize and enjoy.
The Treasure Within Us
Paul doesn't point us toward a day when we might finally become strong enough. He points us toward Christ's power already at work within us.
This isn't about discovering our own strength. It's awakening to His.
Paul describes us as ordinary jars of clay carrying an extraordinary Treasure so that the surpassing power is clearly His and not ours.
We can be ordinary jars because the Treasure has always been Jesus.
More Than Me
But this Treasure was never meant to end with me.
Paul prays that we would comprehend the vastness of Christ's love “together with all the saints.”
His language is beautifully shared because the life we've been given is shared too.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have drawn us into their life of self-giving Love, where His strength in me becomes encouragement for you, His grace in you becomes a gift to me, and together we become places where His Love can be seen and experienced.
Rich Beyond Measure
Abba isn't trying to make a few spiritually impressive people. He is awakening a family to the immeasurable riches already ours in Christ.
The Treasure is Jesus Himself, and His life within us naturally moves toward one another.
We don't need to become better containers.
We get to discover the joy of allowing His Love to fill the ordinary spaces between us.
We are rich beyond measure because Christ is our life, and His greatest riches become visible as His Love flows through us to one another.
Reflection
Where am I living from what I think I lack rather than the fullness of Christ within us?
Who might need the Treasure within me today?
Where is His Love already becoming visible between us?
Prayer
Abba Father, awaken us to the Treasure we already share in Christ. Let Your extraordinary Love flow freely through our ordinary lives to one another. Amen.
