Sent With His Breath
Authority That Flows From Belonging
“As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you… Receive the Holy Spirit.” — John 20:21–22
There is a way fear makes us forget who sent us.
A problem rises, accusation speaks, darkness seems loud, and we walk into the room as though survival is the only goal.
But Jesus never sends beloved ones empty-handed.
After the resurrection, He stood among frightened friends and gave them peace before He gave them their assignment.
Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Authority From Belonging
In Luke 10, Jesus said He had given His disciples authority over the enemy.
They returned amazed that darkness yielded.
Jesus lifted their joy to a deeper place: do not rejoice merely that spirits submit; rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Authority is safest when it rises from belonging.
Not For Control
The authority of sons and daughters is not pride, volume, or control over people.
It is Christ’s life within us standing in love where fear expected us to shrink!
The problem may stand before us, but it does not get to define how powerless we are.
The risen Jesus has given us His peace, His Spirit, and His sending.
We carry something stronger than accusation.
Love With Authority
This is how the Kingdom advances through ordinary people: peace where anxiety has been leading, blessing where cursing seemed easier, courage where fear tried to close the door.
The promise is not that we become impressive. The promise is that Love lives in us with authority.
When a beloved son or daughter walks in the breath of Jesus, fear no longer leads the way.
Reflection
Where has a problem made me feel powerless?
What would it look like to carry the peace of Jesus into this place?
How can Love’s authority move through me today?
Prayer
Abba Father, awaken me to the authority You have given me in Christ. Help me walk as a beloved child, carrying Your peace and letting Your love move through me. Amen.
