The Gift of Today
Waking Up to the Love That Is Here
Open Your Eyes
Open your eyes to the beauty of today.
It sounds simple.
But most of us are living somewhere else—just ahead of where we are.
If this works out.
If that changes.
If things finally come together.
Then I’ll feel at peace.
And without realizing it, we begin missing what is already being given.
The Life That Is Already Here
Jesus spoke often about now.
Not worrying about tomorrow.
Not postponing life.
The Kingdom, He said, is here.
Not waiting somewhere in the future.
God is not only waiting for you in what’s next.
He is present in what is.
What We Miss When We Live Ahead
When we live in the “if…then,” we quietly pass by the life in front of us.
The warmth of a simple conversation.
The way someone’s eyes light up when they feel heard.
The peace of a quiet moment we rush through.
The beauty of ordinary things we no longer notice.
We miss the chance to pause.
To listen.
To love.
We overlook the small invitations—
a kind word,
a moment of stillness,
a nudge to reach out,
a glimpse of joy that doesn’t need to be earned.
Not because these moments aren’t there.
But because we are already somewhere else.
Love Along the Way
We often think love will feel more real once life settles.
But love is not waiting at the destination.
It is here.
In the ordinary.
In the interruption.
In the moment we almost missed.
Not something we arrive at.
Something we awaken to.
Learning to Notice
The journey is not only about where we are going.
It is about learning to notice.
To receive.
To be present enough to recognize that God is already here.
And that His love is not something we earn later.
It is something we are invited to live in now.
Reflection
What moments have I been rushing past lately?
Where might I be missing the beauty already present?
What would it look like to fully enter this moment today?
