The Lie Of Being Alone

When Love Has Already Come For Us

The Lie Of Being Alone

When Love Has Already Come For Us

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you… you will realize that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.” John 14:18, 20

There is a way trouble can make us feel abandoned.

A problem walks into the room, and before long, we start praying as though we are alone, waiting for God to arrive from somewhere far away.

Fear tells us we have been left to manage the moment, survive the pressure, and find our way back to peace.

But Jesus speaks directly to that lonely place.

“I will not leave you as orphans.”

The Lie Of Being Alone

When trouble convinces us we are alone, we start carrying life as though no one is coming for us.

We feel responsible for outcomes we cannot control.

We hear silence as absence and read weakness as proof that help has not come.

But Jesus was not preparing His friends for distance. He was revealing a deeper nearness than they had known before.

The Spirit would be with them and in them.

The Home Within

Jesus does not only promise comfort beside us. He speaks of shared life within us.

“I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.”

This is the triumph of love.

Not that every problem disappears, but that no problem can return us to separation.

The Father has not left His children outside the house, begging through the window.

In Christ, we have been brought into the fellowship of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Living Loved In The Problem

The problem may still stand before us, but it does not speak for Abba.

It cannot tell us we have been left alone. It cannot turn silence into absence or weakness into abandonment.

Jesus has already spoken deeper than the trouble: “I will not leave you as orphans.”

The pressure may remain and the delay may ache, but they do not get to speak for Abba.

You are not an orphan trying to reach home.

You are a beloved child learning to live from the Home already within you.

Reflection

Where has trouble made me feel alone?

What problem has been trying to interpret Abba’s nearness?

How would I pray today if I trusted Christ is within me?

Prayer

Abba Father, quiet the seemingly orphaned places in me. Awaken me to Christ within me, and help me live from the love that has already brought me home. Amen.
