The Table Already Set
Living From What Love Has Given
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness…” — 2 Peter 1:3
There is a way trouble makes us pray as though the cupboards of heaven are bare.
We see weakness, pressure, and need, then start searching for what is missing. “Abba, give me peace. Give me courage. Give me strength.”
Peter gives us a deeper starting place:
He has already given us everything we need.
The Empty-Cupboard Lie
A problem can convince us that lack is the truest thing in the room.
It points to tiredness and says no strength. It points to fear and says no courage. It points to failure and says no way forward.
But lack does not get to inventory what Christ has placed within us.
The Life Already Given
Peter does not begin with what we must produce.
He begins with what His divine power has given: life, godliness, precious promises, and participation in His divine nature.
This is not God tossing supplies from a distance.
This is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit sharing life with us in Christ. The promise is not merely that help may come later. His life has already become our life.
Opening What Is Ours
Living from promise does not pretend the need is small. It brings the need into the abundance of Christ within us.
When fear rises, we reach for the peace already given. When weakness speaks, we draw from grace already present. When the problem asks to lead, we remember what Love has supplied.
The cupboards of Abba’s house are not bare.
Christ is in you, and in Him, the table has already been set with everything needed for today.
Reflection
Where have I been praying as if lack is the truest thing present?
What promise in Christ is already mine today?
How would I face this problem from what Love has given?
Prayer
Abba Father, open my eyes to what You have already given in Christ. Teach me to live from Your life within me and receive everything needed for today. Amen.
