When did we outgrow skipping?

Come unto Me.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

When did we outgrow skipping?

When did we stop singing and dancing?

Did we discover that others’ opinions of our “talents” snuffed out the songs and dances of our life?

Did we just get overburdened by everything we’ve stuffed in our bags?

Have the floors we walk on become slippery from all our spilled lives?

Have we become hoarse from all our screaming demands to have our way?

Have we become crippled by the blows of betrayal when we try to live as God designed?

I pray that God reveals His love to you. May it cause you to become as a little child again, knowing how deeply He loves you and how He dances wildly over you as you come into His presence.

May you start skipping again in His presence…as you embrace the joy He has for you and your life.

PRAY

Lord, I need rest. Rest from myself, my demands, and my expectations. Speak Your words of love over me. Tell me I am Your beloved child. I want to skip and sing again with You. Amen
