When Fear Takes You Far Away
Returning to the Presence That Never Left
Fear Tripping
Fear rarely announces itself.
It begins quietly.
What if this falls apart?
What if I fail?
What if I lose what matters most?
Before long, your imagination is living in a future you don’t want — and in that imagined future, Abba is not even there.
Fear doesn’t just suggest distance.
It removes Him from the picture.
You rehearse outcomes where provision fails, love disappears, and strength collapses — and in that mental script, you stand alone.
But here is the truth:
Abba has not left.
Your consciousness has drifted.
Fear is a mental exile. It relocates you from communion to isolation without moving you an inch.
The Damage Fear Does
When fear governs your inner world, it narrows your vision.
You miss present grace.
You forget past faithfulness.
You brace instead of breathe.
Prayer becomes strained. Listening grows quiet. Joy feels fragile.
Not because Abba withdrew but because fear convinced you He had.
“Even though I walk through the valley… You are with me.” Psalms 23:4
Fear imagines the valley alone.
Faith remembers the Shepherd.
The Way Home
The remedy is not control. It is awareness.
Return.
Abide.
Remember.
Return to this moment.
Abide in the One who has not moved.
Remember who you are — beloved.
Fear may take you on a trip you never meant to take.
But Abba is still here.
And love always brings you home.
Reflection
Where has fear carried my imagination lately?
What future am I rehearsing that assumes I am alone?
What would it look like to return to awareness of Abba’s nearness right now?
