We carry this confidence in our hearts because of our union with Christ before God. Yet we don’t see ourselves as capable enough to do anything in our strength, for our actual competence flows from God’s empowering presence. He alone makes us adequate ministers focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. A Confident Confidence
One of the most freeing truths for me is to know the person of Christ living in me and working through me.
His empowering presence works in ways I don't even recognize.
Most days, I feel like a little child handing my daddy the requested tool to overhaul the engine.
There is so little to do when He is doing the work.
I am confident of His abilities.
My part?
To live in His presence as His presence lives in me.
How do I know when I am not doing my part?
When I become impatient, frustrated, short-tempered, frazzled, etc.
I have then jumped in the engine bay and started turning the wrenches.
That only lasts as long as the first busted knuckle or smashed finger.
Then I hear again, “Child, let me be the Father”.
In what ways or areas of your life do you try to do the Father's part?
If you were counseling your child, how would you lead them when they become frustrated by doing tasks that are way above their abilities?
Lord, You have created us with limits, yet we can be confident You have no limits! Please gently lead us in Your presence as we walk and work alongside You. Amen
