While staying with them, he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father, which he said, “You heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5
All of Him In All Of Me
Be immersed in the Holy Spirit!
Sponges are handy instruments when joined to water.
Other than possibly an artful display, I cannot think of a purpose for a dry sponge.
So, if a sponge is not immersed, what is the purpose?
Many people will spend their lives trying to "live" a Christian life without being immersed in the Holy Spirit.
That is like using a spray bottle on a sponge.
Constantly in their strength, spraying a little of Jesus on like cologne.
It looks and feels wet, but it won't last.
But for a sponge to fulfill the purpose, God had designed it for. It must be immersed fully.
Out of control!
Under the water!
Then, pulled out and wrung out to be used for His purposes.
Have you been baptized by the Holy Spirit? Fully immersed and empowered to glorify the Father and the Son?
Lord, You promised baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire. If there is more of You for me...bring it! Amen
