When they saw Peter and John's boldness and perceived that they were uneducated, ordinary men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13
Be Son Conscious
“And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”
Do others recognize that you have been with Jesus? Or do they only think you try hard not to do the wrong things?
What or Who are you centering your life around?
Christ or defeating Sin?
"What if growing in grace is more about humility, dependence, and exalting Christ than defeating sin?" Barbara Duguid
Please don't take this out of context, but most folks I have conversations with are more concerned about their behavior than their heart.
One of the enemy's ploys is to get us to focus on the output instead of the input of our lives.
When we focus on the output, life takes a self-centered focus on results instead of a Christ-centered relationship that bears fruit through love.
Spend time with Jesus, and the results will glorify Him.
An easy shorthand version to remember:
Be Son conscious, not Sin conscious!
How may you have been trying to “manage” sin?
How have you been distracted by trying to correct your behavior instead of learning God's love for you?
How would you relate differently to others if you loved them as our Abba Father does?
Lord, may we fix the eyes of our hearts on You, the author and finisher of our faith, knowing the only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love. Amen
