I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. Philippians 4:12
Contentment In His Presence
Guilt is concerned with the past.
Worry is concerned about the future.
Contentment enjoys the present.
Accept God's mercy for yesterday's sins.
Accept God's grace for tomorrow's needs.
Learn to be content today in His presence.
Yes, as the above verse reveals, we learn contentment.
We learn it as we grow, trusting that our life is not ours.
We were bought with a price to glorify God in our body and spirit.
We live by the life of Christ, and He is welcome to do as He pleases with this life.
And as we grow in our experience of union with Him, we delight in His presence alone and not our circumstances.
Contentment enjoys the present when it wants His presence!
