"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' Luke 18:10-13
Remember before Whom you are standing.
These men were standing in the same place, in the Temple Court.
Yet only one of them knew before Whom they were standing.
Don't look around and compare yourself to others.
Ever.
Whether you are praying face-down, face-up, standing, or kneeling.
Bow your heart before the Incomparable One.
How have you been deceived into comparing your journey with Jesus to others?
Reflect on who God says you are in Christ and worship Him in your secret place.
Lord, we lay down our worldly views of measurement. Find us enthralled with only You. Amen
