Faithfulness vs. Doubt
“Show Up When It’s Not Shiny”
Part VII: "Fruit of the Spirit and Fruit of Fear" Series
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
—Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)
“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
—1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.”
—Psalm 37:3 (NIV)
Faithfulness doesn’t get the spotlight—but it sure gets heaven’s attention.
It’s showing up when it’s not shiny.
Serving when no one sees.
Staying when everything in you wants to walk.
Doubt says, “This probably won’t work.”
Faithfulness says, “I’ll keep showing up even if it takes time.”
“Let us hold unswervingly…”
Not casually. Not when we feel like it.
Unswervingly. Because “He who promised is faithful.”
God isn’t asking you to be famous—He’s asking you to be faithful.
Faithfulness doesn’t wait for convenience. It moves with conviction.
“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
You’ve been trusted with time. Gifts. People. Purpose.
So don’t give up when it doesn’t look fruitful yet.
Sometimes faithfulness looks like sweeping floors, changing diapers, and writing the check no one sees.
It’s quiet—but it’s loud in the Kingdom.
“Trust in the Lord and do good…”
Keep sowing. Keep showing up. He sees.
Prayer
Lord, help me not to chase attention but to pursue obedience. When I feel forgotten or frustrated, remind me that faithfulness matters to You. Grow in me a consistency that honors Your name—even when no one else is watching. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
