How Are You Responding To The Lie?

Living From What Is Already True

How Are You Responding To The Lie?

Living From What Is Already True

The Voice We Don’t Always Notice

Not every voice we hear is loud.

Some of them sound like thoughts we’ve had for years.
Some feel familiar, almost reasonable.

“You’re not enough.”
“You need to prove this.”
“Something’s off.”

And before we even slow down to question it, we’re already responding.

Because not every voice we hear is telling us the truth. And when we begin to believe what isn’t true, it quietly shapes how we see ourselves and how we live.

The Two Ways We React

Most of the time, we move in one of two directions.

We either agree with the lie and let it define us, or we push against it and try to prove it wrong. One sounds like defeat, the other like determination.

But both are still reactions. And both keep the lie at the center.

What That Does Over Time

When a lie sets the terms, even opposition keeps you tied to it.

You’re still measuring yourself against it. Still being pulled by it. And over time, it becomes exhausting—not because you’re weak, but because you were never meant to live from something untrue.

A Different Way To Respond

There is another way.

Not agreement.
Not opposition.

Truth.

Not something you force, but something you return to.

Truth doesn’t need to overpower the lie—it simply replaces it.

What Is True About You

The truth is not something you create.

It is something God has already spoken.

Jesus says in John 17:26 that the love the Father has for Him is now in us.

The same love.

Not less.

Not a version of it.

The same love the Father has for His Son is the love He has for you.

That’s not something you earn.

That’s something you begin to see.

Where This Leads

And as you return to what is true, the pull of the lie begins to lose its strength.

Not because you fought harder, but because it no longer holds your attention the same way.

Something clearer has taken its place.

You begin to live from what has been spoken over you, and that changes how you see yourself, how you respond, and how you move through your day.

The lie doesn’t have to be managed anymore.

It simply has less to stand on.

Because truth has taken its place.

Reflection

What voice have I been listening to lately?

Have I been agreeing with it or pushing against it?

What would it look like to return to what God says is true?

Prayer

Abba Father, thank You that Your truth is steady and clear. Help me recognize the voices that are not from You and return to what You have already spoken. Teach me to live from Your love and rest in what is true. Amen.
