Generosity begins in the heart of the Father before it ever reaches our hands. This series is an invitation to notice who Papa is loving, what He is revealing, and how His love wants to become visible through us.
Love With Open Eyes
Seeing What The Father Sees
“The Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing…” — John 5:19
Most generosity begins before anything is given.
It begins with seeing.
Not just seeing a crowd, a problem, a need, or an interruption, but seeing a person the way the Father sees them.
Jesus lived this way.
The One Others Missed
Zacchaeus was easy to label.
To most people, he was a tax collector, a thief, a traitor, and a man to avoid. The crowd saw his reputation before they saw his face.
But Jesus looked up into the tree and saw a son.
He did not begin with accusation. He began with invitation: “Zacchaeus, come down. I must stay at your house today.”
That one look carried the Father’s heart.
When Love Notices
No one had to preach generosity to Zacchaeus.
He was seen by Jesus, welcomed by Jesus, and loved before he had fixed the story people knew about him.
From that place, his hands opened. What had been grasping began to release.
Generosity became the overflow of being loved.
This is why seeing matters so much.
We rarely release the Father’s love well when we are only noticing behavior, labels, or inconvenience.
But when Papa opens our eyes, the person in front of us becomes more than a need to solve or a problem to manage.
They become someone Love is already moving toward.
The First Gift
Sometimes the first gift we offer is not money, advice, or a solution.
Sometimes it is attention.
A look that says, “I see you.” A question that makes room for their story. A moment where love slows down long enough to notice what hurry would have missed.
Open hearts begin to create open eyes.
And open eyes begin to recognize where the Father’s love wants to become visible.
Reflection
Who might Papa be helping me see today?
Where have I noticed a label more than a person?
What would generosity look like if it began with attention?
Prayer
Abba Father, open my eyes to see who You are loving right in front of me. Let Your kindness slow me down and make Your love visible through my life today. Amen.
