One Less Excuse
Making Room For Love
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” — Philippians 2:13, NIV
The Reasons We Find
I can say I’m too busy to make a phone call and still find time to scroll through my phone. Apparently, my calendar isn’t always the problem!
We “make” excuses to avoid things we don’t want to do and “find” reasons for things we do. Recognizing that gives us somewhere to begin, not another reason to condemn ourselves.
One Familiar Excuse
“An excuse is a way of promising ourselves we will have that same issue again.” — Dr. Henry Cloud
We have real limits, and Abba knows them.
He also knows when a familiar excuse keeps us from apologizing, setting a needed boundary, or accepting help.
Grace For The Response
Jesus isn’t asking us to tackle those things alone. His Spirit works within us, shaping both our willingness and our response as we bring Him what feels difficult.
Removing one excuse doesn’t mean fixing everything today. It can mean saying, “Abba, I’ve been avoiding this. Help me respond from the Love we already share.”
Love Beyond Us
That phone call may become more than one less thing on our list.
It may become the encouragement a friend needed or the beginning of a conversation that helps us heal.
Change your life by removing just one excuse—and let someone else share in the freedom.
Reflection
What excuse keeps postponing something good?
What help could I receive instead of trying alone?
Who might benefit from my response?
Prayer
Abba Father, help me trust Your grace and respond to Your Love. Let the freedom You give flow through me to others. Amen.
