Righteous Feedback

"Criticism is painful when it’s not done with love." Alice Walker

One of the most important things we do for people we love is to tell them the truth. It is essential for them and others.

Yet, criticism is hard to give and take rightly.

We must ask for wisdom from God regardless of our role as givers or receivers.

Usually, it is best received...when it is asked for!

But, sometimes, not telling someone what they need to know isn't loving.

Greater than the need for wisdom when giving criticism is love.

Love is not self-seeking.

Love desires what is best for the other person.

And love can open one's heart and mind to receive.

Spend time praying for people before you speak anything that could move them from wounding to healing.

"Do everything in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14

How might you not allow others to give you loving criticism?

What could you do to give better and receive constructive criticism?

Lord, You lovingly correct us. And we know that no discipline feels good at the moment. Please grow us all in this area! Amen
