Something To Smile About
Enjoying His Love, Sharing His Life
“And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.” First John 1:3
A Once-A-Month Toothbrush
I could brush my teeth once a month and call it a special occasion. My friends would probably prefer something a little more regular!
Prayer, Scripture, and quiet with Jesus belong in everyday life, too.
Not as chores that make us acceptable, but as ways to enjoy the One who has already welcomed us into His Life.
Both Sides, Please
Brushing only the front teeth might improve the photograph, but it leaves much untouched!
Communion with Him gives me room to bring my whole self to Abba.
I can talk with Him about what delights me, what troubles me, and what I’ve been reluctant to admit, knowing His love reaches beyond the parts everyone sees.
A Little Mouthwash
Confession can be like rinsing away the residue of thoughts we’ve allowed to linger.
It isn’t persuading God to forgive; it is agreeing with Him about what needs to change and receiving the power to be transformed.
In our fellowship, the Holy Spirit helps us think with Christ's mind. I can acknowledge an unkind response, receive mercy, and see the person I hurt through His eyes.
Love Within Reach
Our communion doesn’t end when we close the Bible.
Jesus shares the rest of the day with us, and His tenderness can shape how we listen, forgive, and care for one another.
I don’t want people merely to notice that I have good spiritual habits.
I want them to enjoy being loved by the One whose company I’ve been enjoying.
Reflection
What helps me enjoy communion with Abba?
Where is the Holy Spirit inviting me to agree with Him?
How could someone experience His tenderness through me today?
Prayer
Abba Father, let the joy of our communion become kindness in our conversations and love in our relationships. Amen.
