Out came the man who had been dead, his hands and feet tightly wrapped in burial cloths (linen strips) and with a [burial] cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and release him.” John 11:44
Unwrap Him!
What is our role in the freedom of others?
Many followers of Jesus are like Lazarus after he was raised from the dead.
They are still waddling around in grave clothes like a duck.
Not unwrapped.
Not free and living the new life Jesus has paid for.
It is hard to follow if you are all wrapped up in yourself.
Grave clothes are unwrapped by brothers and sisters to allow others to live an abundant life of following Christ.
How do we do this?
By allowing people to belong because they are loved radically.
By listening and leading.
By speaking the truth in love for love.
By being available.
The list goes on…
Our job isn't to change them, just help unwrap them.
We are privileged to counsel, encourage, correct, and lead others to our hope in Christ.
The power of Grace through us will help unwrap the entanglements binding our brothers and sisters.
What is your next move if you have not been unwrapped and are not living in the freedom Jesus has paid for?
If you have been unwrapped and living in the freedom Jesus has paid for, then who is He leading you to help unwrap?
Lord, You are the God of the enslaved and free. You have given Your life for all. Lead us to those who can help unwrap us or those You desire for us to unwrap. Amen
