“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are." I John 3:1
My Beloved Child
The Spirit reminds us who we are. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in what God has called me to do that I forget the most essential part of my identity. Then the Spirit softly whispers the Father's words to my heart afresh: "My child." Craig Keener
Let's not confuse "our made for this" with "Whom we are made for."
There is a chasm between who we are and what we are called to do.
We are called His children, His beloved.
Beloved is our identity.
The fruit we are all called to bear is love. (Note that says bear and not produce).
"Our made for this" concerns our gifts, talents, and where He has planted us.
Be patient and trust the Father to lead, transform, and work His life through us as He desires.
You cannot enjoy the fulfillment of your "made for this" without the fulfillment of His love.
Find yourself wrapped up in His Love.
What are the signs of getting wrapped up in His call on your life instead of His love?
What attitudes or thought patterns reveal living for instead of living from?
Lord, how beautiful is Your love for us. May we stay hidden in You, our first love! Amen
