Walking In His Will
The Joy Of Walking With Abba
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
The Question I've Prayed
One of the questions I've prayed more than almost any other is, "Father, what is Your will?"
I've prayed it over jobs, relationships, opportunities, crossroads, and decisions that seemed too important to get wrong. Looking back, I don't think those were bad prayers. They simply weren't the only conversation my Father wanted to have with me.
The Answer Was Already There
Then one day I found myself reading Paul's words as if for the first time.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
I had read those verses many times before, but this time I wasn't looking for another instruction.
I found an invitation.
Rejoicing keeps my heart turned toward His goodness. Prayer keeps the conversation going. Gratitude opens my eyes to His faithfulness, even while life is still unfolding.
That isn't a checklist; it is what walking with Someone looks like.
Walking Changes The Journey
When my heart stays close to the Father, the questions that once felt so urgent somehow find their proper place.
I still ask Him for wisdom. I still ask Him to open doors and close others. But those decisions no longer carry the same weight because they are no longer the center of my attention...He is.
The Will We've Been Looking For
I don't think the Father has ever hidden His will from His children.
Long before He shows us the next turn in the road, He invites us to rejoice in His goodness, keep talking with Him, and learn to recognize His faithfulness.
His greatest desire has never been simply helping us make the right decision.
His greatest desire has always been that we would know His heart so well that every decision is made while walking with Him.
Reflection
Have I been searching more for God's direction than His heart?
How is Abba inviting me to enjoy His presence today?
What decision might become lighter simply because I'm walking through it with Him?
Prayer
Abba Father, thank You for inviting me to walk with You. Keep my heart close to Yours today.
