When Love Becomes Our Life
Two hearts learning to live from the love of Abba
“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
More Than Finding Each Other
There is something wonderful about two people discovering that their lives are better together.
The laughter, the attraction, the tenderness, and the growing desire to know and be known are beautiful gifts.
But what if Abba has something even greater in mind?
What if the deepest purpose of bringing two lives together isn't simply for them to find happiness in each other, but for them to discover more of His love through each other?
Love Has a Source
Jesus prayed something extraordinary in John 17:26: that the very love with which the Father loved Him would be in us.
We are invited to participate in the love shared by Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We aren't being asked to manufacture enough love to sustain a relationship.
We are learning to live from the One whose very nature is Love.
Learning to Love Together
Real relationships reveal wonderful things about us, along with tender places we may not have known needed healing.
There will be misunderstandings, disappointments, waiting, and circumstances neither person would have chosen.
Yet these can become places where His love does some of its most beautiful work.
Patience becomes more than waiting. It becomes loving while we wait. Serving becomes a joy rather than an obligation. Forgiveness makes room for healing, and vulnerability becomes possible because love offers a safe place to be known.
Love isn't the reward for becoming better. Love is where becoming happens.
A Love That Overflows
Perhaps one of the greatest joys of two lives becoming one is discovering that their love was never intended to end with them.
Children, grandchildren, family, friends, and even strangers become recipients of the love flowing through their shared life.
And somewhere along the journey, two people discover something wonderful: they aren't simply learning to love each other.
They are learning to love with Him.
Reflection
How might your relationships change if you recognized Abba's love as your source rather than something you must produce?
Where is His love inviting you into greater patience, freedom, or vulnerability?
Who might experience more of His love because of the relationship He is growing in your life?
Prayer
Abba Father, thank You for creating us by Love, for love. Teach us to receive Your love more fully and to recognize You in those You have given us to love. May our relationships reveal the beauty of Your heart and become places where others encounter Your life. Amen.
