Worry Not?

Worry is imagining your future as if God doesn’t show up.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:33-34

Worry Not?

Worry is imagining your future as if God doesn’t show up. Wendy Backlund

Telling someone not to worry rarely works.

It is right up there with telling your wife, "Calm down!".

Why?

It just does not translate because they are thinking in the wrong kingdom.

There is a different language in this world than the kingdom of God.

As harsh as it may sound, it is translating life from a temporal point of view.

Getting drawn back into thinking that life must turn out how we desire and plan is easy.

The above scripture displays the answer to not worrying.

“Seek first His kingdom and righteousness.”

When we have denied ourselves, picked up our cross, and followed Him, we have begun to live in His kingdom.

At that point along each step, our lives are no longer our own.

They are no longer our concern.

We are free to pursue what He desires and become free from ourselves.

Looking back, you will see that God has brought you this far, regardless of your choices.

He is the First and the Last, the One Who was, Who is, and Who is to come.

He holds you now in your worried state and will whisper away your fears by His love.

He holds you now, and He is waiting for you in your tomorrow.

What are the circumstances or relationships that you find stimulate worry?

Ask God to bring light into the areas you continue to claim as your own.

Lord, complete our surrender to You. Forgive us for holding on to things of this life that are no longer ours. May we become so aware of Your love that we find that You are the desire of our hearts. We thank You for rightly caring more for us than we do ourselves. Amen
