You’re Not Called to Be All Things
God’s design in you fits His assignment for you.
Somewhere along the way, many of us picked up the pressure to be everything to everyone. And it’s exhausting.
The truth? You’re not called to be all things. You’re called to let the One Thing—Jesus—flow through you in the way each person He brings across your path needs in that moment.
God’s words still ring in my heart:
“I haven’t called you to be all things to all people. I Am to be the One Thing through you that each person I place in your life needs… You are the wineskins. I am the wine.”
“I haven’t called you to be all things to all people. I Am to be the One Thing through you that each person I place in your life needs… You are the wineskins. I am the wine.”
Paul wrote, “We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).
We’re the container—He’s the content.
The Unique You
You are intentionally designed—with your personality, gifts, talents, life experiences, and even the quirks you’re still not sure about—to fit where He places you. “
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). You don’t need to copy someone else’s style or try to serve out of someone else’s strengths.
God doesn’t need a knock-off; He created you as an original.
The Placement Is On Purpose
God has a way of orchestrating our daily “coincidences” with precision. That neighbor you bumped into, the coworker who lingered after the meeting, the stranger on the plane—it’s not random.
“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in His way” (Psalm 37:23).
The same God who placed David in front of Goliath places you in moments that fit your design and His plan.
The Power Is His
Some days, it might be a smile or a kind word. Other days, it might be bold prayer, a word of healing, or leading someone to Jesus. Jesus said, “Whoever believes in Me… rivers of living water will flow from within them” (John 7:38).
You bring the availability; He brings the power.
