Now to Him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church and Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
“If Jesus Christ, the greatest teacher in the world, followed up his instruction by prayer, what of us? If Jesus Christ, who was set on a mission that changed not just world history but all of eternity, took time to pray, what of us? If Jesus Christ, the Son of God, knew that he needed to pray, what of us?” Alastair Begg
Who is at work within us? God.
Who is accomplishing this work within us? God.
How much more than we can ask or imagine is He able to accomplish? An abundance!
For whose glory? God's.
Where do we find God's glory? In His body and His Son, Jesus.
For how long? Forever.
Are you praying from faith or experience?
I am convinced that I often limit what I ask because I ask from my experience, not faith.
I may limit my asking because God didn’t meet my past expectations.
I may limit my asking because I think God will answer like He did last time.
One is a faith based on experience.
The other is a faith based on a person, God our Father.
Too often, I ask for me and my will instead of asking for Him to transform the community and me He has planted me in.
It is time to seek His face only.
Trust God alone.
Are you asking for what you want or what God wants?
How might you learn to pray with imagination?
How are you limiting your prayers because of your experiences?
How might you increase your request for what God wants to do through you?
Lord, find us entirely faithful to ask in faith and not experience. May we believe nothing will stand in the way of Your glory. Amen
