So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. Roman 14:19
Beyond Boundaries
What about when they do?
What about when they do this?
Did you hear what they just said?
But when they say this?
In writing this, I realize I cannot cover every circumstance or relationship.
However, boundaries have become law somewhere in our Christian language and culture instead of a guide.
They have become about protecting our rights instead of living righteously in relationships.
My place of peace has been found in my death and resurrection with Jesus.
It is no longer my life.
I have no "rights".
Whoa, stop there! Go back and read that I have no "rights."
This doesn’t mean we need to be doormats—Jesus wasn’t.
When a boundary needs to be established and observed, it needs to be for the good of others.
In what ways have you used boundaries to shut others out or punish them instead of working toward reconciliation and restoration?
Lord, thank You for living Your life through us. May we learn how You want to express Your life to others. Show us how to love righteously. Amen
