Seeing The Father In The Son
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being.” Hebrews 1:3
Look At Jesus
If we want to know what the Father is like, we look at Jesus.
That sounds simple, but it gives us a beautiful way to approach everything we believe about God.
Philip once said to Jesus, “Show us the Father.” Jesus answered, “Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father.”
Jesus is not merely giving us information about God. He is revealing Him.
What Do We See?
Follow Jesus through the Gospels.
He welcomes children, touches lepers, eats with sinners, protects the condemned, restores failures, forgives enemies, and moves toward people others have pushed aside.
This is not Jesus being kinder than His Father.
This is the Father’s heart made visible in the Son.
So throughout this series, one question will keep bringing us back to center:
What does this moment in Jesus' life reveal about the Father?
More Than Knowing About Him
John 17 takes us deeper.
Jesus tells the Father that He has made His name known and will continue making it known “so that the love You have for Me may be in them and I Myself may be in them.”
Jesus does not reveal Abba merely so we can understand Him better. He reveals the Father so we can share in the Love Jesus has always known with Him.
The destination is not better theology alone.
It is relationship.
Participation.
Life with Abba.
Keep Looking
So we will keep looking at Jesus—how He loves, forgives, confronts, heals, judges, restores, dies, and rises.
And each time we look, we will ask what He is showing us about His Father.
The more clearly we see Jesus, the more clearly we discover the heart of Abba—and the Love He invites us to live inside.
